Ring Sizing

It is important to get the right size of ring so that it fits comfortably, and also doesn’t fall off! There are a few factors to consider when figuring out what size of ring will fit you best.

If you don’t know your ring size, the easiest way to figure it out at home is to carefully cut out a thin strip of paper (approximately 2 mm wide) and wrap it *snugly* around the finger you wish to size, carefully mark where it meets, and then measure the length in millimeters. Double check to make sure the measurements are correct. Also, if you have larger knuckles please take this into consideration. Once you know the measurements of your finger, please use the chart below to determine your ring size!

Here are some other ways to figure it out:

  1. The most accurate way is to get a ring sizer and measure your finger that way. You can order them online for fairly cheap, or! Some jewelry shops will have ring sizers, so if you are passing by one, perhaps try asking them to size your fingers for you.

  2. If you have a ring that fits you well but you don’t know what size it is, there are printable charts online and apps that can download can help you determine what size it is. *If you go the printable chart route, be sure to print it to-scale, and find one that has a ruler scale check on the side to double check that everything is accurate.

Some other things to consider when sizing your finger:

  • How wide is the ring band of the ring you wish to buy? Wider ring bands will fit a bit more snuggly because they take up more space on your finger. So, if you were sized with a narrow band ring, and you are buying a wide band ring, think about maybe sizing up a bit (generally a 1/4 to a 1/2 size depending on how wide the ring band is). Although, that being said, in my listings, when I state what size of ring it is, I try to say “fits like a size 6”, so in those cases, I have already tried to factor in this size discrepancy.

  • Which finger are you hoping to wear the ring on? Each hand’s fingers are often slightly different sizes, so keep that in mind.

  • What is the temperature? Finger sizes can fluctuate a bit depending on the temperature, so take this into consideration when you are figuring out your ring size.
